New Canadian Series Coming to Wild TV This Summer

The Docuseries ‘Frontier Stories’ Offered to Both Network Audience and App Users

Edmonton, Alberta- January 25th, 2023- Wild TV, which is Numeris-rated as the number one outdoor programming provider in Canada*, announced today that they have formed a new content partnership with producer Eric Orton to bring viewers a six-part docuseries titled Frontier Stories. Season One of Orton’s show will reach Wild TV’s fan base in the third quarter of 2023 through both the network and also on-demand by way of the Wild TV Canada App.

Frontier Stories’ Canadian content will touch on conservation threats and the efforts taken by many to preserve wildlife, fisheries, and industry. Fish hatcheries will be the primary focus for this series. Orton and his team will learn how fisheries operate, and they promise to prove they are successful. Season One’s episodes are also slated to visit many remote areas that were once thriving communities. World War II military installations, sawmills, whaling stations and power stations are just some of the old infrastructures that will be featured, and the Frontier Stories team will dive deep into historical events that created these communities.

Orton commented on his new partnership with Wild TV:

“On behalf of the cast and crew, I would like to convey our gratitude to Wild TV for partnering with our documentary series Frontier Stories. Wild TV’s long-lived love and dedication to outdoor sport, adventure and education is a perfect fit for our production.”

Wild TV’s Vice President, Scott Stirling, echoed Orton’s acknowledgement of Frontier Stories’ suitability for their network: “We were Canada’s first outdoor channel, and we’re still the most watched hunting and fishing network in the country. So, I think it’s fitting that Wild TV, the network who has been advocating for the preservation of Canada’s hunting and fishing heritage for two decades, offers the debut of Frontier Stories, which will reach the people who are actually living Canada’s outdoor heritage. Not only is this series educational, and the historical storytelling compelling, but aesthetically Frontier Stories is absolutely gorgeous. The videography really stands out as a cut above the rest and I can’t wait for this series to hit the air so fans can see Canada through the eyes of an absolute artist.”

About Frontier Stories

Season One of Frontier Stories is a reality run-and-gun adventure docuseries exploring northern regions in Canada. The great outdoors can be a relaxing experience, but in these regions, you need to know before you go! Not all dangers and rules are written. This six-part series explores wild water, massive fish, dangerous wildlife, history, and the people that call northern cities “home.” New industry restrictions and public opinions have made controversies normalized for those that live and work in these regions. All have taken massive scrutiny from outside public opinions, governments, media, creating unrest in these beautiful places. The series will outline what is happening in these regions, why it’s important, and what residents are doing to help. The best conservationists are those that work and live around the resources they need to survive. The series will follow individuals that call this place “home sweet home.”
